The Magic of ADHD Through Iris’s Eyes

ADHD isn’t just a problem. Iris discovers that chaos can become a source of creativity. Doodles, scribbles, and unconventional ideas aren’t failures — they are tools to create something unique.

Survival Kit for Kids

  • Use mind maps or doodles to organize thoughts and plans.
  • Don’t fear your ideas, even if they seem “chaotic.”
  • Collaborate and show your creativity to your team.

Tips for Parents

  • Acknowledge your child’s unique approach to learning and organization.
  • Give them space for experimentation and creativity without pressure.
  • Reward effort and innovation, not just the final result.

I walked into the classroom and saw the new "project" written on the board.
The teacher announced it in a "you're all going to love this" tone — and of course everyone thought, "What is he talking about?"
The project required teamwork.

I ended up with Aris and Maria, who had already created a plan full of neat diagrams.
I, on the other hand, had created mind maps full of clouds, doodles, and a list of things I wanted to buy for my dad.

“Iris, do you have a diagram?” Aris asked.
“Diagram? Uh, yes… sort of,” I said, showing him a little cloud with an f(x)f(x)f(x) inside it.
Maria froze.
“What on earth…?”
I just smiled.
“Don’t worry. My ADHD turns simple exercises into art — and now diagrams into… dance!”

The project continued with small explosions of panic, attention drift, and unexpected breaks to look at the bird outside the window or draw clouds in the margins of my paper.

And then something magically strange happened.
My ideas started to make an impression on the group.
The mix of wild imagination and a little bit of “chaotic logic” was more creative than they expected.

By the end of the day, the project was unexpected!
Something no one had ever seen before — leading to solutions through paths no one anticipated: little clouds, scribbles, dancing f(x)f(x)f(x), and a black bird that seemed to be participating.

“Okay, maybe I’ll never be the best at organizing everything. But I can definitely make life more interesting — and fun — for myself and others.”
And just like that, “panic + ADHD + clouds” became my new superpower, and the reason everyone started loving my way of thinking.

What to Expect Next Week

Iris will take part in a math competition where her ADHD will switch into “turbo mode.”
We’ll see how panic and imagination can combine to create unique solutions.
